THE TRADITION OF THE SHANGPA KAGYU LINEAGE
The Shangpa tradition started in the 10th century with the two jnana dakinis Niguma and Sukhasiddhi who passed their teachings on to the Mahasiddha Kyungpo Naljor. Historically it had very few monasteries, was without hierarchy, and long remained a “secret” lineage transmitted from one master to one disciple. In the 20th century its principal holder, Vajradhara Kalu Rinpoche (1904-1989), considered to be the enlightened emanation of Jamgön Kongtrül Lodrö Thayé, spread the Shangpa tradition widely throughout the world. It remains very much alive as a complete yogic tradition. Suggested Donation: $15 per session.

The Venerable Khenpo Tsulnam Rinpoche is the Chief Abbot at the Lunrig Jampal Ling Institute at Palpung Sherab Ling in India, appointed by Tai Situ Rinpoche. He tours extensively teaching in many countries throughout the world. Born in 1968, he became a monk at the age of 13. He has received numerous teachings and transmissions from many great masters including Jamgon Kongtrul, Karma Chagme and Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. Rinpoche was enthroned Khenchen by Khenpo Pema Tsewang in Dharjon Shedra.
