On October 13, Dr. Fred Cooper will present a workshop on “The Last Three Statements of Garab Dorje” as an introduction to Dzogchen practice. Garab Dorje was the first Vidyadhara of the Dzogchen lineage, and as he was dying, he left followers with these three statements: 1) Introducing directly the face of Rigpa (one’s true nature), 2) One attains the certainty of this state, and 3) Confidence directly in the liberation of rising thoughts.
Fred’s teaching will cover the first statement as commented on by Patrul Rinpoche.

Professor Cooper is a close disciple of H.E. Khentin T’ai Situ Rinpoche and received these teaching from VV Mingyur Rinpoche. He has taught for over 30 years at Kagyu Centers around the world. He is president of the KSK Buddhist Center, and is a theoretical physicist associated with the Santa Fe Institute and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
