For the first time at Kagyu Shenpen Kunchab, we will offer a three-day Mahakala Drub Tab Retreat, similar to what is done in Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries all over the world before Lösar (New Year). 2020 Marks the year of the male Iron Mouse or Rat, and Lösar is February 24, Monday.
The retreat will take place from Thursday-Saturday at the Gonpa. Schedule Thursday and Friday goes from 8:30 to 6:00 pm with lunch and tea breaks served. Saturday puja begins at 7:00 am and breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a special Gutuk stew will be served. The concluding practices include the auspicious Chi Lu (cheating death) and long-life prayers and other offerings.
It is traditional to bring tsok (food) offerings, and other offerings of your choice including candles, flowers, incense, as well as offering to the Lamas. This year we will have five or more lamas in attendance. The pujas will be led by Venerable Lama Mingma and Venerable Lama Dorje. Click on link below for full schedule.
