2-Day Mahakala Retreat 2024

Kagyu Shenpen Kunchab will offer a two-day Mahakala Drub Tab Retreat, similar to what is done in Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries all over the world before Losar (New Year). 2024 marks the year of the male wood dragon, and Losar is celebrated Saturday, February 10.

The retreat will take place from Wednesday-Thursday, February 7th & 8th in the Gompa. Schedule Wednesday goes from 8:00 to 6:30 pm with lunch and tea breaks. Thursday puja begins at 8:00 am and breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a special Ghutuk stew will be served.  The concluding practices include the auspicious Chi Lu (cheating death), long-life prayers and other offerings.

It is traditional to bring tsok (food) offerings, and other offerings of your choice including candles, flowers, incense, as well as offering for the Lamas.   The pujas will be led by Venerable Lama Mingma..

Suggested donation of $108 for full in-person retreat will help cover food and tea costs, $54 for one-day. Zoom fee is $27 per day. No one will be turned away.
