Welcoming in the New Year, we invite you to two days of teaching on the short Green Tara practice being given by Dr. Fred Cooper, hosted by the Kagyu Mila Guru Sangha and Herman Rednick Trust at the Herman Rednick Center, Questa, NM 87556
Green Tara is known as the Mother of all Buddhas, she herself a female Buddha of Compassion who protects from the 8 worldly fears and dangers: lions, elephants, fire, snakes, thieves, floods, imprisonment, and evil spirits.Schedule:Friday, Jan 24:First Session: 1:00-3:00 pmtea break: 3:00-3:452nd Session: 3:45-5:00Potential for Evening practice 7:00-8:00 pmSaturday, Jan 25First Session : 10:00-12:00lunch break (bring your own bag lunch) 12:00-1:002nd Session 1:00-2:30As covid is spreading again, masks are suggested but not required, though we ask if you have any cold symptoms, to attend on zoom instead of in person.This teaching will be in person and on zoom. Suggested donation is $15/session or $50 for the two days. Your donations help us bring the teachers and are a needed part in maintaining the center. No one turned away for lack of funds.Dr. Fred Cooper is a close disciple of H.E. Khentin T’ai Situpa, and recipient of direct Mahamudra Transmissions from H.E. T’ai Situpa, H.E. Kalu Rinpoche and V.V. Mingyur Rinpoche. Fred has been teaching at Kagyu Centers in the U.S. for over thirty years. He has been Program director for Theoretical Physics at the National Science foundation, and is currently associated with the Santa Fe Institute and Los Alamos National Labs. He is President of KSK Buddhist Center.
