Lama Nima Sherpa

Part-time Resident Lama at Santa Fe, KSK
Resident Lama, Truth or Consquences, Karma Gyurmed Ling

Our newest lama, Ven. Lama Nima, travels between KSK and Karma Gyurmed Ling, serving both centers.

He arrived in the U.S. on March 12, 2025 from the Tashi Gomang Stupa in Siliguri, India. Lama became a monk at the age of seven, and when he was older, began to teach and provide guidance to the young monks at the monastery. Lama Nima still enjoys working with children, a special gift he brings.

On October 6, 2009, Nima Sherpa entered the three-year, three-month retreat at Sonada monastery retreat center, Kunsang Dechen Osel Ling. He successfully completed the retreat on January 13, 2013 and was recognized as a Lama in the Shangpa Kagyu Buddhist tradition headed by His Eminence, Kalu Rinpoche.

While at KSK, Lama Nima assists Lama Dorje, leads practices and special events, and shares his knowledge with KSK sangha. We are grateful for his great generosity and his kindness and deep understanding of the Dharma.
